Coloring my world, painting gives me a sense of peace and helps me reflect and process life. My vibrant abstract paintings are inspired by human connection and elements in nature such as water, coral reefs, and trees. My approach stems from studies in philosophy, culture, and teaching in San Diego. It was further influenced while living in diverse communities around the world. After having my first child, surrounded by people who spoke a different language, I began to feel isolated. Motherhood reinvigorated my creativity and courage in new ways. Not one to let grass grow under my feet, I explored a variety of creative pursuits including writing and building community through my art practice. Although I work primarily with acrylic, brushes, and spatulas, I see myself as a free spirit allowing my process and materials to flow naturally. I approach the work with a sense of exploration and invite you to experience my world of color and raw emotion.
